CARAD’s Food Bank

Two people arranging the food donations

Carad provides many essential services to asylum seekers that have no where else to turn. One of the most essential is our Food Bank. Our part time Food Bank Coordinator, Janna manages a team of 40 volunteers to deliver high quality fresh food, pantry and hygiene items to our clients. All food and hygiene items are donated.

We are thankful for the support of our fresh food partner SecondBite that supplies all of our fresh produce that is carefully sorted and prepared by our volunteer team.

All of our pantry and hygiene items are donated by our partner Schools and from kind individuals in the community.

If you would like to be on our Food Bank donor list or to join as a partner school please email foodbank@carad.org.au

SecondBite

Each week, CARAD receives donated food free of charge from SecondBite, one of Australia’s largest food rescue organisations.  SecondBite provide fresh food and vegetables to our foodbank, which are then sorted and packed by our volunteers, to be distributed directly to our asylum seekers clients.

The food provided makes a real difference to the lives of our CARAD families, and ensures that they have healthy, nutritious meals each week.  Thank you to SecondBite for your generosity and support!
